frankly

Dear Frank,

I'm loving this sweater on you. Frankly, Frank, I think it does fabulous things with your hair. Some people may think it a bit too feminine, but I say, let them think what they want. Just be frank about it. I have another one of these EZ February sweaters on the needles right now because everyone, I dare say, should knit one in February.

Anyway Frank, enjoy it. And let's hope the snow melts one of these days and you can get outside before you turn two.

Inhabitant

I’m an anxious academic who recently fled the big city for the rural South. I now reside in an old house with a charming -- if curmudgeonly -- historian, J, and our latest addition, a roadside puppy named Homer. I’m happiest with a skein of yarn, a lump of clay, a yard of fabric, a cup of flour. I might be less happy--but I'm satisfied in other ways--with a stack of papers or an article needing revisions. This space records and reflects this tension, between vocation and avocation. It's neither entirely domestic nor culinarily concerned. It's often autobiographical, sometimes downright chatty. Though it may not seem like it, I hide more than I disclose, but that's just to keep you guessing.
